Sharjah

Sir Abu Nu'Ayr Island is one of the region's oldest islands, known among early fishermen as "Sir al-Qawasim." Excavations revealed some ruins dating back to 3500 BC, known as the Iron Age. The island was a centre for camping and accommodation for pearl-hunting divers and a refuge for fishermen to take shelter from sea storms.
